Self Education Expenses – Youth Allowance

Some joy for the little guy/generation Ys out there to allow self education costs to be claimed against youth allowance received.

It’s a case similar to the movie “The Castle” where the little guy/lady takes up the challenge and fights his/her case on their own against the resources of a larger institution, and in this case, against the Australian Taxation Office (“ATO”). (more…)

Bonus Payments for Australian taxpayers

As many would be aware, the Federal Government is spending $42 billion over a number of measures to stimulate our Australian economy during this current world economic crisis.

One measure is to provide up to $900 as a tax-free cash bonus to Australian taxpayers.  It is estimated that 8 million Australians may be entitled to this bonus, or part thereof. (more…)
